What should I do first?
Install Hermes Agent, run hermes setup, connect a model provider, then run hermes doctor. Do that before adding messaging, schedules, or MCP servers.

Which model provider should I use?
Hermes supports many providers, including OpenRouter, Anthropic, OpenAI, Nous, DeepSeek, and custom endpoints. Start with the provider you already trust or the one that gives the best balance of cost, speed, and capability for your use.
Do I need coding experience?
You need to be comfortable running terminal commands. You do not need to be a full-time developer to start, but advanced setup such as custom tools, MCP servers, or self-hosted services becomes more technical.
